About Us
Ungovernable Magazine strives to be just that—ungovernable. We are a voice for the oppressed, working diligently to provide news, art, and literature that reflects the realities of life in the United States. As the media landscape shifts and legacy media loses the confidence of the American public, we aspire to present a platform dedicated to bringing bold ideas, creative freedom, and ethical reporting to the forefront. In a time when most news organizations belong to a few corporations and billionaires keep a chokehold on historic editorial boards, we offer an alternative unaffiliated with big name media.
Founded by Kierstin Cole and Amyth, Ungovernable Magazine is borne out of deep concern for the current situation in the United States and the world at large. Watching misinformation and hatred spread, we knew that an opportunity had come: create a bold new space, one that catered to creativity, nuance, and diversity. Ungovernable Magazine is that place.
Commitments
Creating a New Platform for Media
As legacy media loses the public’s trust, Ungovernable Magazine offers something different, a new platform on which creatives and reporters alike can find a home. We will set ourselves apart from other media outlets.
Giving Space to Bold Expression
Acknowledging that art is inherently political, Ungovernable Magazine encourages boldness of expression. We will respect art in its many forms and embolden those we work with to communicate effectively.
Presenting Ethical and Truthful Reporting
During an era of misinformation and biased reporting, Ungovernable Magazine strives to present reliable information and informed opinions. We will not publish anything we haven’t fact checked to the best of our ability first.
Fostering a Safe Community
As attacks on marginalized groups become not only permissible but encouraged, Ungovernable Magazine will be a sanctuary, a respite from the loud and angry voices that seek to silence us. We will not tolerate hatred, violence, or discrimination.
